Well I just try and stay out of places where I am going to be irritated or upset. I won't go to the anti-SG board because I would find it upsetting (and I may find people I liked saying stuff I wouldn't wanna read - ignorance is bliss!)...for all I know I may be regularly slated over there myself...but if so at least by staying away I am not being hurt by it!

I keep out of most of the arguments on Sony because most either they are deliberately started by trolls, and I refuse to fuel the fire, or else I can see both sides of an argument (even though I may strongly disagree with one or other) and so feel torn.

As for the fanclub....well yes I know it can be syrupy sweet there...but hey - it's a fanclub, it's not a political forum or whatever! I avoid most of the "really sweet" threads myself, but we have had a few threads lately that had me laughing out loud - very silly and often cheeky.

So I guess I have a "pick and mix" approach to the official boards, really! I actually spend most of my time on yet another board, but it's probably not controversial enough over there for many posters here! [img]graemlins/devil.gif[/img]

Hi Barb

Well as you see, I did allow myself to be drawn in today...but only after I had PMed the person I disagreed with several times and she continued to post lies and rubbish....unfortunately some of the concerns she wanted to raise may have been legitimate...I say "unfortunately" because they have been completely lost amid all the ****!

I hope I managed to control my increasing anger though and not get too unreasonable in what I posted. I can't tell atm, cos I am still too upset by the whole thing. There is another thread she's started now and I have so far managed to avoid the temptation to get involved.....keep your fingers crossed for me that I manage to keep that up!!!

It's heartbreaking to see what's happening but it was brewing for so long, the sh*t had to hit the fan sometime.

I agree some valid points were raised but got lost in her ability to go overboard and lose all respect! Even I told her to stop in the end.

Yes it is sugary sweet and oh so positive!

It doesn't meet all my needs as a *mature* fan, however, I don't mind wandering in and out of it and post if/when something gets my interest.

I am however glad it exists, because if my girls were interested in interacting with other Darren fans on a messageboard, I would feel safe and secure in there being on that one and not feel the need to supervise!

LOL thanks Kat, but I'd be a lousy mod anywhere where folks get annoyed at all, because I'd have to read threads I would normally stay out of! I am mod on a Street Team forum on one board, and I can handle that - I'd hate to be a mod somewhere like Sony though *shudders at the thought*. Too chicken, lol!

I have just spent 45 minutes reading the threads on the Sony board and all I can say is "Thank F*ck for this place". I don't know WHAT went on last night, nor am I in the slightest bit interested in finding out but, OMG, what a total mess that place is. I've come to the conclusion that I don't really give a flying frog WHAT happens on there anymore b/c I've lost all interest in it (and Darren too, to a certain extent). One thing is for damned sure though - there is one person on there who really ought to be committed!!! Dear God! she's certifiable! lol

I've NEVER seen such a disgusting display of bile and venom in one place and those who chose to use that situation to promote their own personal agendas of hatred ought to damn well be ashamed of themselves! Also, those ppl who just 'flitted' in from the f/c board to grab the chance to be nasty (as that is quite obviously not allowed on that board) and then buggered off again - to you I say DOUBLE SHAME ON YOU (you know who you are).

All of this over just a singer! *pffttt*

I don't honestly think that I shall be bothering to post on that board again - too much hassle/effort, too much hatred and too much jealousy.
